Court of The Patriarchs Zion
The Epic Court of the Patriarchs in Zion National Park is one of the shortest hikes in Zion. Upon approaching the paved trailhead I could not see the viewpoint so I had no idea what I was in store for. I continued east and upward on a short paved trail until I reached this breathtaking viewpoint. The Patriarchs are three neighboring sandstone peaks on the west side of Zion Canyon. Each is named after biblical fathers. From left to right they are Abraham Peak, Isaac Peak, and Jacob Peak. Abraham Peak is the tallest at 6,890 feet. The Patriarchs were named by Frederick Vining Fisher, a Methodist minister who ventured into Zion in 1916. I wonder what he thought.
