Sailing - The San Francisco Bay
Out and about to capture some interesting images while on a ferry ride to Fisherman's Warf. I'm waiting for this lonely sailboat to come into the foreground so those sails will catch the golden light from the setting sun and reflect it off the water. In the background are San Francisco, and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge aka The Bay Bridge. Both are standing tall. The length of the bridge is about 23,000 feet total or (4.5 miles). The Bay Bridge connects Interstate 80 between San Francisco and Alameda Counties. The 3 large steel towers stand at about 526' above the water level. To compare The Philadelphia Ben Franking bridge at 9,573′ is a dwarf compared to this beast. You only see a section of the bay bridge in this photo. Click image for a better look. Cheers!
