Charles Ragucci Photographer and Creative Professional
I view the art of photography as a creative process, a mixing of reality into a personal vision. As such, I often use the tools of modern photography – different cameras, lenses, filters, digital enhancement – to try to capture in an image with the emotion I felt at the moment I tripped the camera's shutter.
Photography is my passion in life. I have been taking photographs since the age of 14 when I bought my first 35mm Single Lens Reflex Camera. After that, I was hooked. In high school and college, I continued to pursue my passion for photography by learning and shooting with a medium format camera, twin-lens reflex film camera and a 16 mm film camera along with developing black and white prints in the college darkroom. Eventually, I began shooting weddings and portraits professionally. My second passion in life is the outdoors as most of the photographs displayed in my gallery are of landscapes and outdoors. Times have changed but my passion has not.
Recently technology has allowed me to fly my camera into the air on a stabilized 360-degree remote controlled gimbal, control aperture, shutter speed and even shoot bracketed and HDR images. That's pretty much everything I could do with my land based camera. Oh, that includes seeing and high definition view of everything my camera sees in the air, I see on the ground.
The camera drone or Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) has allowed me to capture an entirely new world and perspective. I have been piloting camera drones for over 3 years and I take this technology very seriously and operate safely. Examples of some of my aerial photography are available in Aerial Photography Gallery
